I'm excited to be running this course at a new venue, the light and spacious Creative Quarter in the centre of Carlisle. The lovely Whistling Crew are helping me host it!
Spaces are limited to 15 participants so early booking is recommended. The course starts on Monday 25 April and ends at the start of July. There are eight sessions over 12 weeks.
‘I feel like an impostor.’
‘I have loads of great ideas but I don’t get anywhere.’
‘I’d like to start being more serious about my work but I don’t know where to start.’
If any of the above statements apply to you, then this course is for you.
For visual artists, writers, musicians, poets and multimedia artists. This course will give you time to develop your own creative process in a structured, fun way. We will look at the thinking and practice of making work in any medium/art form. Based on Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, this course specifically designed so that you can become the reflective, creative person that you’ve always wanted to be, but never dared. There will be regular ‘check-ins’ and opportunities for longer-term support for those who enrol.
Please note this is not a practical course in that you will not learn how to paint, draw or write, but you will learn how to find and channel your inspirations, be more open and more connected to your work and the world around you. There will be practical activities as part of each session but no prior skill or experience required.
This course is limited to 15 participants. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

(The image above is an Ensō, a meditative painting practice from Zen buddhism. It is painted in one or two brushstrokes and one breath. The circle can either be closed or open, revealing the painter's current state - either perfect (and closed) or open. It is used to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.)
