What you will learn A beautifully simple technique to create detailed prints using recyclable plastic and the wonderful Rochat etching press. For complete beginners. An introduction to drypoint printing which enables you to create detailed and delicate prints with scratched lines. You will use recyclable plastic and learn how to ink and print a small edition of prints. No previous experience is needed for this course. Beginners are welcome, along with those who need a refresher. Course programme Create a drypoint plate. Inking and printing using Rochat etching press. What’s included All basic materials such as paper, tools and equipment are provided. Other materials and printmaking papers will be available to buy during the course if you would like to try something a bit different or take some materials home to try. Preparing for your course Explore markmaking with a fineliner/sharp pencil to make the most of this course. Doodle/draw, create patterns and interesting marks and explore transitions between tone and strong/delicate/fine lines. You will be creating a plate roughly 100 x 150mm but it does not need to be a regular shape and can be cut with scissors or a sharp blade within reason. Come with a printed image/drawing on paper that fits within the dimensions, flipped if possible. Artists: Rembrandt, Whistler, Ginny Grayson, John G. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and refunds If you cancel your booking more than three weeks before the course start date, you will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% administration fee. I regret I cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks before the course start date. At this point I will have already started making preparations including ordering materials, and it is less likely I will be able to fill your place. I cannot give refunds for failed attendance due to sickness or external circumstances. Transfers If you would like to transfer to another course, you can do this free of charge providing you let me know three weeks before the course start date. Bookings cannot be transferred with less than three week’s notice but if you are unable to attend on the day, bookings can be transferred to another person. In this case, please let me know as soon as you can so I can update the booking. Cancellation by Linden Print Studio Linden Print Studio reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses. If this happens I will try to give you at least a week’s notice and full refunds will be given.
