What you will learn This one-day course will teach you the basics of creating a repeat pattern. Yoou will learn about design elements and geometry. You will create a pattern that tessellates seamlessly and looks effective and then transfer that to a linocut. You will then learn about printing it on a surface of your choice with variations and improvisation, and exploring colour themes. No previous experience is needed for this course. Beginners are welcome. Course programme Shapes that tessellate, seamless repeat pattern methods, colourways. Printing a repeat pattern. What’s included All basic materials such as paper, tracing paper and drawing equipment are provided. You will need to provide your own fabric, but paper will be supplied for printing for session two. Preparing for your course You should be thinking about shapes and forms as inspiration. Collect a range of source material, could be photographs, drawings, aerial views. Think about colourways and scale. You are welcome to bring your laptop with image-editing software such as Procreate or Photoshop. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and refunds If you cancel your booking more than three weeks before the course start date, you will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% administration fee. I regret I cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks before the course start date. At this point I will have already started making preparations including ordering materials, and it is less likely I will be able to fill your place. I cannot give refunds for failed attendance due to sickness or external circumstances. Transfers If you would like to transfer to another course, you can do this free of charge providing you let me know three weeks before the course start date. Bookings cannot be transferred with less than three week’s notice but if you are unable to attend on the day, bookings can be transferred to another person. In this case, please let me know as soon as you can so I can update the booking. Cancellation by Linden Print Studio Linden Print Studio reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses. If this happens I will try to give you at least a week’s notice and full refunds will be given.
