What you will learn You will learn how to use vintage lead type and printing presses to print a short text. Using 1960s Adana letterpress machines you will learn how to set, lock up and print a text of your choice. Experience level No previous experience is needed for this course. Beginners are welcome, along with those who need a refresher. Course programme Health and safety with lead type. Learn how to set type, spacing and locking up the forme. Using the Adana press to print. *Lunch* - you will need to bring your own packed lunch or Cranstons and Waitrose at Dobbies are just down the road if you want to do takeaway. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided during the day. What is included All basic materials such as paper, tools and equipment are provided. Additional paper will be available to buy during the course or you are most welcome to bring your own. Preparing for the course Prepare a short text (about 10-20 words maximum) that you wish to print. I have a limited range of typefaces and sizes so be prepared to be flexible about the final outcome. Email me and I will send you the full list of what I have. You are welcome to bring your own paper to print on (A5) but please ensure it is not too rough, textured and hard. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and refunds If you cancel your booking more than three weeks before the course start date, you will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% administration fee. I regret I cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks before the course start date. At this point I will have already started making preparations including ordering materials, and it is less likely I will be able to fill your place. I cannot give refunds for failed attendance due to sickness or external circumstances. Transfers If you would like to transfer to another course, you can do this free of charge providing you let me know three weeks before the course start date. Bookings cannot be transferred with less than three week’s notice but if you are unable to attend on the day, bookings can be transferred to another person. In this case, please let me know as soon as you can so I can update the booking. Cancellation by Linden Print Studio Linden Print Studio reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses. If this happens I will try to give you at least a week’s notice and full refunds will be given.
