Residency

The Studio is open for residency applications. Applicants will need to submit a CV and a link to their portfolio/website/social media and will be considered based on what they would like to achieve in the studio.

Linden Print Studio is a well-equipped, open-access studio in North Cumbria, situated in a rural hamlet on the Solway Plain, 6 miles west of the historic and easily accessible city of Carlisle. The Solway estuary and the Northern fells of the Lake District are much quieter than the south of the Cumbria and great for research visits. Hadrian’s Wall, the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway are also within easy reach.

Vega, who runs the studio, can provide tours and itineraries of the Lake District and Borders as well as connecting residency holders with arts events and artists in the county.

Airports: Carlisle, Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow

Train station: Carlisle or Dalston (Cumbria)

Coach station: Carlisle

Bus: there is a bus stop for local buses 1.5 miles from Studio

Notes

Please contact Vega, vega@lindenprintstudio.co.uk for latest accommodation and studio fees. Applications from LGBTQ+, neurodiverse people and people with health conditions or impairments are welcome.
Applicants will have 24-hour access to the print studio during the residency, but there may be other people using the studio/classes running during the daytime. A degree of flexibility will be required.
Material costs are not included in studio fees, and residency holders are welcome to bring their own materials, as long as they are suitable for printing.
Payment of fees (fully refundable up to 2 weeks before start date) will be expected at least 4 weeks in advance of residency.
Both Linden Print Studio and self-catering accommodation are non-smoking spaces.
Pets are welcome (additional cleaning fee).
