What you will learn A day course where you will learn how to create an intaglio plate from drawings or photographs, making an image on a solar plate that you can print as an etching. Experience level Some experience of printing, particularly etching, drypoint or aquatint is recommended. Course programme You will learn how to expose a solar plate and create a test etching and a final image. Inking and printing on the Rochat etching press. *Lunch* - you will need to bring your own packed lunch or Cranstons and Waitrose at Dobbies are just down the road if you want to do takeaway. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided during the day. What is included All basic materials such as paper, tools and equipment are provided but you will need to buy your blocks directly from Chris, who will bring a selection for you to purchase. Other materials and printmaking papers will be available to buy during the course Preparing for the course Prepare some images roughly A6 size. What next? You would probably enjoy mezzotint or monoprint. Or join as member to make more etchings and prints.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations and refunds If you cancel your booking more than three weeks before the course start date, you will be eligible for a refund, minus a 5% administration fee. I regret I cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks before the course start date. At this point I will have already started making preparations including ordering materials, and it is less likely I will be able to fill your place. I cannot give refunds for failed attendance due to sickness or external circumstances. Transfers If you would like to transfer to another course, you can do this free of charge providing you let me know three weeks before the course start date. Bookings cannot be transferred with less than three week’s notice but if you are unable to attend on the day, bookings can be transferred to another person. In this case, please let me know as soon as you can so I can update the booking. Cancellation by Linden Print Studio Linden Print Studio reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses. If this happens I will try to give you at least a week’s notice and full refunds will be given.
