Susan Young didn’t know until later in life that art was so important to her. After attending an event at Carlisle College, she enrolled on the Access to Art course before completing a BA in Fine Art at the University of Cumbria. She hasn’t looked back since.
In her work, Susan uses a range of media to convey her love of landscape through printing, painting and installation work. Her work is often a response to particular rural locations she has visited.
Susan lives and works in rural Cumberland where she set up Blacksmith Studios. She is a member of the Scotby Art Group and Northern Fells Group where she regularly attends workshops.
