Update September 2026

Hi All

Wow, that was an intense Summer, so apologies for the delay in getting this out. I hope your Summer has been your time to rest and recharge, despite The Heat. For those of you who have just joined the mailing list, welcome! Please see my note at bottom explaining how membership works too.

News

Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey way back in May. I’ve taken your comments on board and designed the course programme so that it hopefully suits more people. For this year, courses will run on weekends and generally be full-day courses as opposed to half-day courses. The move to weekend courses that doesn’t mean you can’t use the studio on weekdays for Open Access or 1:1 tuition.

The seven (!) letterpress cabinets are still incoming at the start of October, but hopefully we’ll have enough space! I won’t really know until they are in the studio, despite measuring thrice. I have to admit I’m still a little trepidacious.

One new thing I’m introducing from November is Print Club – once a month, first Wednesday of each month, 6-8pm. This is open to anyone who has been on a course at the studio and wants to continue with their own work. For example, if you’d like to do a bigger or more complex project and need a bit of guidance and support, then Print Club might suit. You don’t need to be a member but for members it’s £8 per session and non-members £12. Print Club will run on demand and be limited to 6 places, so please email me to reserve your space at least 24 hours in advance.

Courses at Linden Print Studio

I've attached the course programme for 2026-2027. Over the next week I’ll be putting these on the website, but I’m happy to take advance bookings via email if you can’t wait.

Highlights are:

Laura M R Harrison’s Artist’s Development Course, Parts One and Two, five Tuesday evenings 6-7.30pm in Jan-Feb and Sep-Oct 2027, £125 per part or £225 for both parts if you book them at the same time. See attached flyer.

Chris Daunt’s two-day Wood Engraving Course, 10-4pm, Sat 20 and Sun 21 March, £235

Emily Macaulay, Stanley James Press is running two bookbinding courses:

Bookbinding 1, half day, 1-4pm, Sat 13 Mar, £45

Bookbinding 2, full day, 10-4pm, Sat 26 June, £90

Linden Print Studio Open Weekend / Art Sale / Art Destash! Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October

I'll be showing off the new letterpress facilities, selling my older framed work, and having a general sale of surplus art equipment from the studio and from friends.

If you’d like to take part in the joint de-stash of art materials (not artwork) then you are welcome to drop off your priced items (and an inventory) at the studio from Monday 19 October onwards. I won’t take any commission but please make a donation to a charity of your choice in lieu of giving me some money for my time.

Laura M R Harrison exhibitions Seventy-Three Fingers of Jupiter at In a land Gallery, Linden Mill, Hebden Bridge (until 26 September, THIS SATURDAY) and Holy Creatures group exhibition at Kendal Museum (until 10 October).

If you attended or are interested in joining Laura M R Harrison’s excellent Artist’s Development Course at the Studio, you might be interested to know that she has two exhibitions on at the moment, but one ends this Saturday 26 September. Please see attached flyers and posters.

Studio Membership provides access to studio facilities as part of Open Access or Print Club and includes a 5% discount for all courses. Membership is intended for those who wish to use the studio regularly for their own work and get discounted rates for courses. Those who only wish to receive updates about exhibitions, events and advance notice of courses can subscribe to the mailing list which will always be free of charge.

Membership costs £35 per year.

Finally, you may notice I’ve had a bit of a clean-up of the website. I hope you manage to find your way around it ok.
