Update May 2026 - Changes and survey

Hi All

I hope you're enjoying the return of the swallows and the warmer weather.

I've taken the big decision to move the print studio more towards my passion - letterpress and relief printmaking. I can't believe that next year will be the 10th anniversary of the studio. When I opened the print studio in 2017, I wanted to offer a wide range of printmaking processes, build a community, help introduce people to printmaking and help artists develop their skills, not only at the studio but out in the wider world. I think I've worked some way towards that. 

Letterpress is a big change for me. The next few months will see the arrival of more letterpress equipment and I will start reaching out to people to collaboratively create projects to use this stubbornly complex and analog process. 

These are the things in the pipeline:

Refresh the website

Artists Development Course with Laura M R Harrison: Develop a new, possibly shorter course+ an advanced/follow-up course, both with new resources, source texts and structure

Late Summer or Autumn sale of Vega's artwork and some printmaking equipment - need to clear more space

Reinstate exhibition programme

Funded residencies

Turn the middle room with the woodburner into less of sitting room and more of a workroom

After a pause to get my part-time fine art practice PhD started (got Project Approval this month- yay!), I'm going to run courses next year, pretty much as usual, but I wanted to gauge interest before I fix the programme for September 2026-July 2027. So I've set up a simple questionnaire (just 5 questions) and in return for your input, I'll put your name in a prize draw to win 1 of 3 £5 vouchers. Deadline for responses 28 May 2026.

I can also run bespoke courses as long as you can get a minimum of 4 people together. The bespoke course will be dependent on my availability and the suitability/timescale of what you are proposing. The day or half-day rate will be the same as the scheduled courses so £90/50 per person.
